WEIR) DISCONTINUANCE.

AN ACT to Authorise the Discontinuance of the

Mundaring-Mundaring Weir Railway.

[Assented to 14th November, 1952.]

RE it enacted, by the Queen's Most Excellent

Majesty, by and with the advice and consent

of the Legislative Council and the Legislative

Assembly of Western Australia, in this present

Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the

same, as follows:—

1. This Act may be cited as the Railway 'Short

(Mundaring-Mundaring Weir) Discontinuance Act,

1952.

2.    (1) On the commencement of this Act, the ?,?:Airiu-

railway described in the Schedule to this Act shall gpir=0."f

cease to be operated until the Governor otherwise declares, and the material thereof may be used in the construction or maintenance of any other authorised railway or may be sold, disposed of, or otherwise dealt with as the Minister for Railways may determine.

(2) The cost of the railway as charged to the Government Railways Capital Account may be omitted from the accounts prepared under Part IV. of the Government Railways Act, 1904-1951.

SCHEDULE.

Description of Railway.

All that railway having a total length of 4 miles 51 chains commencing in Mundaring Station Yard opposite a point 21 miles 17 chains 87 links from Perth on the Bellevue-Mt. Helena Railway and proceeding thence in a general south- easterly direction for 1 mile 75 chains, and thence in a general south-south-westerly direction for 1 mile 15 chains, and thence in a general westerly direction for 50 chains, and thence in a general south-westerly direction for 31 chains, and thence in a general easterly direction for 25 chains, and terminating at a point 26 chains east-north-east of the Mundaring Weir, all measurements being more or less, being the railway purchased by the Department of Railways in 1909 from the Goldfields Water Supply Depart- ment, and constructed by the Public Works Department in 1898 under the authority of Act No. 12 of 1896.
