certain sums amounting iji the whole to seven hundred and

tifty-eight thousand five hundred pounds for the several Puhlic W orks hereinafter specified Be it therefore enacted by the Queen’s Most Excellent M ajesty by and witli th<̂ advice and consent of the Legisla­ tive Council and Legislative Assembly of New South WMles in Parliam ent assembled and by the authority of the same as follows :—

an Electric Telegraph from Sydney to Newcastle the sum of thirteen thousand pounds—towards constructing a Bridge over the R iver M urray at A lhury tlie sum of ten thousand pounds—for (irecting an ffdditional Powder Magazine at Goat Island the sum of three thousand pounds—and for constructing a Dam at M^cst M aitland the sum of two tho\isand pounds And all sums borrowed under th is Act shaR he paid to the Colonial Treasurer and shall he by him placed to the credit of the Consolidated Revenue Eund and shall he applied towards the r('spcctive purposes for which the same shall have been so raised and shall be accounted for in the same m anner as if they had formed part of the C urrent A nnual Revenue of the Colony.

I t shall be lawful for the Governor w ith the advice of the Loan of £75s,5oo for

rate not exceeding five per centum per annum such several sums of

money not exceeding in the whole the sum of seven hundred and fifty-

eight thousand five hundred pounds as may be required for the

following several purposes nor exceeding for the same resjfcctivcly the

following several sums tha t is to say—Towards the extension of

existing lines of Railway the sum of seven hundred and twelve

thousand pounds—for Railway Trial Surveys the sum of eight

thousand pounds—for erecting an Electric Telegraph from Sydney to
