Rail Safety National Law Application Act 2013

Rail Safety National Law (Victoria) (Drug and Alcohol Controls) Amendment Regulations 2025

The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1Objective

The objective of these Regulations is to amend the Rail Safety National Law (Victoria) (Drug and Alcohol Controls) Regulations 2019—

(a)to prescribe a preliminary breath test device; and

(b)to prescribe oral fluid screening devices.

2Authorising provision

These Regulations are made under section 51 of the Rail Safety National Law Application Act 2013.

3Preliminary breath test devices

For regulation 6(b) of the Rail Safety National Law (Victoria) (Drug and Alcohol Controls) Regulations 2019[1] substitute

"(b)the Dräger Alcotest 7000 also known as the Draeger Alcotest 7000; and".

4Devices prescribed for the purposes of oral fluid analysis and drug screening tests

After regulation 15(ea) of the Rail Safety National Law (Victoria) (Drug and Alcohol Controls) Regulations 2019 insert

"(eb)the oral fluid screening device known as the Clonal Technologies Oral Fluid Drug Test 7 or the Clonal 7;

(ec)the oral fluid screening device known as the Oranoxis ToxWipe 7+ or the ToxWipe 7+;".
