RAIL SAFETY ACT 1993—PROCLAMATION

NEW SOUTH WALES

I, Rear Admiral PETER ROSS SINCLAIR, A.C., Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Rail Safety Act 1993, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 24 September 1993 as the day on which that Act (except section 28) commences.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Proclamation is to commence all provisions of the Rail Safety Act 1993 except section 28 which makes it an offence for an owner or operator of a railway to employ, or enter into a contract with, a person, who does not hold a certificate of competency, to perform railway safety work.
