Radiocommunications (Transmitter Licence Tax) Regulations2 (Amendment)

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulation under the Radiocommunications (Transmitter Licence Tax) Act 1983.

Schedule

The Schedule to the Radiocommunications (Transmitter Licence Tax) Regulations is amended:

(a) by inserting after item 21 the following item:

“21a Earth station, Australian satellite service, Class A

185 + $100,000 X T, where T equals the number of transponders, or fractions of a transponder or transponders, accessed by that earth station, where:

(a) those transponders or fractions are not accessed by any other earth station that includes a transmitter in respect of which the licensee to whose licence that first-mentioned earth station relates is the licensee; and

(b) each transponder so accessed, including any transponder in relation to which a fraction is accessed, has a bandwidth not exceeding 45 MHz” ;

(b) by omitting from column 2 of item 22 “service” and substituting “service, Class B”;

(c) by omitting from column 2 of item 31 “transmitter,” and substituting “transmitter, other than”.
