Radiocommunications (Transmitter Licence Tax) Regulations2 (Amendment)

I, THE ADMINISTRATOR of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Radiocommunications (Transmitter Licence Tax) Act 1983.

Commencement

1. These Regulations shall come into operation on 9 September 1985.

Principal Regulations

2. In these Regulations, “Principal Regulations” means the Radio-communications (Transmitter Licence Tax) Regulations.

Interpretation

3. Regulation 2 of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting from sub-regulation (1) the definition of “service” and substituting the following definition:

“ ‘service’ means—

(a) AUSSAT service;

(b) Australian satellite service;

(c) Base station, Class A (high density location) service;

 

(d) Base station, Class A (low density location) service;

(e) Exterior paging service, Class A;

(f) Exterior paging service, Class B;

(g) Exterior paging service, Class C;

(h) Interior paging service;

(i) Internal television service; or

(j) Telemetry service.”.

Amount of tax

4. Regulation 3 of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting from sub-regulation (2) “$3,742,000” and substituting “$4,150,000”.

Tax in respect of grant of transmitter licence—fixed station, Class C

5. Regulation 4 of the Principal Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting from paragraph (1) (a) “27” and “28” and substituting “33” and “34” respectively;

(b) by omitting the table in sub-regulation (3) and substituting the following table:
