Radiocommunications Standard

(UHF CB Radio Transmitters) No. 1 of 1996

I, CHRISTINE MARY GOODE, Spectrum Manager, acting on behalf of the Spectrum Management Agency, make the following Standard under subsection 162 (1) of the Radiocommunications Act 1992.

Citation

               1.   This Standard may be cited as the Radiocommunications Standard (UHF CB Radio Transmitters) No. 1 of 1996.

[NOTE: This Standard takes effect on gazettal: see Radiocommunications Act 1992, s. 164.]


Definitions

               2.   In this Standard:

“carrier frequency” means a carrier frequency mentioned in a column headed “Carrier frequency MHz” in Table 1 of Australian/ New Zealand Standard AS/NZS 4365:1996;

“repeater station” means a station that is capable of the reception and simultaneous automatic re-transmission of radio signals from a CB station;

“the Act” means the Radiocommunications Act 1992.

Standard for certain transmitters operating at frequencies exceeding 30 MHz

               3.   (1)    Subject to subclause (2), for paragraph 162 (1) (a) of the Act, the standard for the performance of radiocommunications transmitters, other than repeater stations, that are capable of being operated on a carrier frequency is the standard set out in Australian/ New Zealand Standard AS/NZS 4365:1996, other than paragraph 1 (b), clause 3.11, clause 5.1 and subclause 6.12.

             (2)   For the application of that Australian/New Zealand Standard, the Standard is modified by inserting after clause 1:

1A   COMMENCEMENT OF CLAUSE 6.4     Clause 6.4 of this Standard commences on 1 January 1997.”.
