1. This instrument may be cited as Radiocommunications Standard (Analogue Speech (Angle Modulated) Equipment) No. 1 of 1995.
2. This instrument commences on 1 January 1996.
3. (1)In this instrument: “the Act” means the Radiocommunications Act 1992. (2) In this instrument, an expression that is used in the Radiocommunications (Definitions) Determination No. 2 of 1993 has the same meaning as in that Determination.
4. This instrument applies to analogue speech (angle modulated) equipment that is intended to be operated: (a) as 1 or more of the following kinds of device: (i) a land mobile system station; (ii) an ambulatory station; (iii) a point to multipoint station: (iv) a point to point station; (v) a station on board a ship for the purpose of on-board communications; and (b) on a transmitter frequency within the frequency range: (i) in the case of equipment that is intended to be operated as a station on board a ship for the purpose of on-board communications ¾ 450 MHz to 470 MHz (inclusive); and (ii) in any other case ¾ 29.7 MHz to 520 MHz (inclusive); and (c) on a frequency channel with a bandwith of 12.5 kHz, 20 kHz or 25 kHz.
5. For the purposes of paragraph 162(1)(a) of the Act, the standard for the performance of analogue speech (angle modulated) equipment is the standard set out in Australian Standard AS 4295 ¾ 1995, as in force on 1 January 1996 (other than paragraph 3.1.2 of that Australian Standard). ____________________________________________________________ NOTE 1.
