Radiocommunications (Publication) Regulations

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council and in pursuance of section 4 of the Acts Interpretation Act 1901, hereby make the following Regulations under the Radiocommunications Act 1983.

Citation

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Radiocommunications (Publication) Regulations.

Interpretation

2. In these Regulations, “the Act” means the Radiocommunications Act 1983.

Publication of notices, &c., under sub-sections 9 (2), 16 (3), 16 (4) and 20 (1) of Act

3. (1) A notice under sub-section 9 (2), 16 (4) or 20 (1) of the Act shall be published in the Gazette.

(2) The prescribed manner of publication of an advisory guideline under sub-section 16 (3) of the Act is publication in the Gazette.

 

Publication of advertisements under section 57 of Act

4. An advertisement under section 57 of the Act shall be published—

(a) where the inquiry relates to a matter of national significance—

(i) in a newspaper circulating generally throughout Australia; or

(ii) in 2 or more newspapers each of which circulates generally throughout an area that, together with the areas throughout which the others of those newspapers circulate generally, comprises the whole of Australia; or

(b) where the inquiry relates to a matter of regional significance—

(i) in a newspaper circulating generally throughout the region concerned; or

(ii) in 2 or more newspapers each of which circulates generally throughout an area that, together with the areas throughout which the others of those newspapers circulate generally, comprises the whole of that region.
