Radiocommunications (Licensing and General) Regulations (Amendment) (Cth)

of the Federal Executive Council, make the following Regulations under the
Dated 4 November 1991

1.1 The Radiocommunications (Licensing and General) Regulations are amended as set out in these Regulations.
2.1 Subregulation 2 (1) (definition of “multipoint distribution station receiver, Class A”):
Omit the definition.
2.2 Subregulation 2 (1) (definition of “multipoint distribution station receiver, Class B”):
Omit the definition.
3.1 Omit the regulation, substitute:
“
AUSTEL;
European Committee for Standardisation;
(c) European Committee for Electro-technical Standardisation;
(d) International Electro-technical Commission;
(e) International Maritime Satellite Organization;
(f) International Special Committee on Radio Interference.”.
4.1 Paragraph 6 (b):
Omit the paragraph, substitute:
“(b) a class of transmitters specified in Column 2 of an item in Schedule 3, each of which transmitters is capable of operating only:
(i) on a frequency, or within a range of frequencies, specified in Column 3 of the item; and
(ii) within a limitation (if any) specified in Column 3 of the item; and
(iii) at a radiated signal strength that does not exceed the maximum signal strength specified in Column 4 of the item:
(a) at a distance from the transmitter’s antenna that is the distance specified in Column 4 of the item; or
(b) if no distance is specified in Column 4—at a distance of 3 metres from the antennna.”.
5.1 Paragraph 7 (j):
Omit “or (h);”, substitute “or (h).”.
5.2 Omit paragraphs (k), (l) and (m).
6.1 Item 66, Column 3:
Omit the description, substitute:
“a station that, using a single frequency and occupying a bandwidth that exceeds 4 megahertz, transmits to at least 4 multipoint distribution station receivers:
(a) if a class A station—services that are category (1), (2) or (3) services referred to in subclause 4 (1) of the Frequency Band Plan in force under the
Radiocommunications Act 1983 3; or(b) if a class B station—services that are category (4) or (5) services referred
to in subclause 4 (1) of the Frequency Band Plan in force under the
Radiocommunications Act 1983 3.”.
7.1 Omit item 6.
7.2 Add at the end:
“11 | A device listed in Schedule 3, other than a device listed in any of items 1 to 10 of this Schedule | 350” |
8.1 Omit the schedule, substitute:
