Radiocommunications (Licensing and

General) Regulations2(Amendment)

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Radiocommunications Act 1983.

Principal Regulations

 1. In these Regulations, “Principal Regulations” means the Radiocommunications (Licensing and General) Regulations.

Interpretation

 2. Regulation 2 of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting from subregulation (1) the definition of “multipoint distribution station receiver” and substituting the following definition:

“ ‘multipoint distribution station receiver’ means a station:

  • (a)

    established solely for the reception of radio transmissions from multipoint distribution stations or multipoint distribution repeater stations (or both); and

  • (b)

    that uses a single frequency and an occupied bandwidth exceeding 4 megahertz;”.

Schedule 1

 3. Schedule 1 to the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting items 66 and 67 and substituting the following items

 

“66

multipoint distribution station

a station:

  • (a)

    that provides one way radio transmission to not fewer than 4 multipoint distribution station receivers; and

     (b) that uses a single frequency and an occupied bandwidth exceeding 4 megahertz.

multipoint distribution repeater station

a station that is used for the reception of radio transmissions from a multipoint distribution station and for the automatic retransmission of those transmissions to multipoint distribution station receivers.”.
