This Determination is the Radiocommunications Licence Conditions (Maritime Ship Licence) Amendment Determination 2008 (No. 1).
Commencement
This Determination commences on the day after it is registered.
Amendment of Radiocommunications Licence Conditions (Maritime Ship Licence) Determination 2002
Schedule 1 amends the Radiocommunications Licence Conditions (Maritime Ship Licence) Determination 2002.

(15) If a maritime ship station includes Automatic Identification System (AIS) equipment, the station must comply with the requirements of the relevant document in Part 15 of Schedule 1.

4.13 Automatic Identification System (AIS) — ship station Class B non assigned
If the licensee operates a ship station Class B non assigned for Automatic Identification System (AIS) purposes, the licensee must operate the station:
(a) on a frequency mentioned in column 2 of an item in Part 11 of Schedule 3; and
(b) using a transmitter output power not exceeding the power mentioned in column 3 of the item; and
(c) for a purpose mentioned in column 4 of the item.

If the licensee operates a ship station Class C non assigned for Automatic Identification System (AIS) purposes, the licensee must operate the station:

(b) using a transmitter output power not exceeding the power mentioned in column 3 of the item; and
(c) for a purpose mentioned in column 4 of the item.
