The AUSTRALIAN COMMUNICATIONS AND MEDIA AUTHORITY makes this Determination under paragraph (c) of the definition of domestic digital television receiver in section 5 of the Radiocommunications Act 1992.

This Determination is the Radiocommunications (Domestic Digital Television Receiver — Characteristic) Determination 2007.
Commencement
This Determination commences on the day after it is registered.
Definitions
In this Determination:
Act means the Radiocommunications Act 1992.
electricity supply body means an authority or body corporate that carries on either or both of the following businesses:
(a) supplying electricity;
(b) managing the supply of electricity.
Characteristic of domestic reception equipment — connection to electricity system
(1) For paragraph (c) of the definition of domestic digital television receiver in section 5 of the Act, this section specifies a characteristic of domestic reception equipment.
Note The definition of domestic digital television receiver refers, in part, to domestic reception equipment that has such characteristics (if any) as are specified in a legislative instrument made by ACMA.
(2) The characteristic is that the domestic reception equipment, as manufactured:
(a) will work if it is connected to an electricity system of an electricity supply body; and
(b) does not have a battery that allows the equipment to be operated otherwise than by connection to an electricity system of an electricity supply body.
