RADIATION SAFETY (GENERAL) AMENDMENT REGULATIONS

(NO. 4) 1993

Made by His Excellency the Governor in Executive Council.

Citation

1. These regulations may be cited as the Radiation Safety (General)

Amendment Regulations (No. 4) 1993.

Commencement

2. These regulations come into operation 2 months after the day on which

2300 GOVERNMENT GAZETTE, WA [4 May 1993

Principal regulations

3.  In these regulations the Radiation Safety (General) Regulations 1983*

are referred to as the principal regulations.

Regulation 3 amended

4.   Regulation 3 (1) of the principal regulations is amended by inserting in

the appropriate alphabetical position the following definition —

gt

"tra.nsilluminator" means electronic product which is —

(a)

capable of producing ultraviolet radiation between 240 nm and 400 nm wavelength from a mercury or other vapour lamp; and

(b) designed for use in laboratory or industrial

applications for back illumination of transparent

fluorescent materials; "

Regulation 7 amended

5.   Regulation 7 (1) of the principal regulations is amended by deleting "and

lasers" and substituting the following —
