RACING RESTRICTION.

AN ACT to amend the Racing Restriction Act, 1917, as amended by the Racing Restriction Act Amendment Act, 1925.

BE it enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

(3) The principal Act as amended by this Act may be cited as the Racing Restriction Act, 1917- 1972.
Repeal and
| re-enactment | 2. Section 3 of the principal Act is repealed and |

| on trotting | 3. (1) No trotting race meeting, and no |
| racing. | trotting race for any stake or prize shall be held without the license in writing of the Western Australian Trotting Association. |
Subject to subsection (3) of this section, the number of trotting meetings to be held in the metropolitan area, inclusive of the trotting meetings of the Western Australian Trotting Association, shall not exceed forty-nine outside the Fremantle district, and fourteen within the Fremantle district, in any year, and no license shall be issued by the Western Australian Trot- ting Association in contravention of this section.

The Treasurer may, at the request of the Western Australian Trotting Association, auth- orise trotting meetings to be held on not exceed- ing five additional days outside the Fremantle district, and not exceeding two additional days within the Fremantle district, in any year in aid of any Public Hospital or other Charitable or Patriotic purpose.
