Racing (Electoral) Amendment Regulations 2006

I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Racing Regulation Act 2004 .6 November 2006

1Short titleThese regulations may be cited as the Racing (Electoral) Amendment Regulations 2006 . 2CommencementThese regulations take effect on the day on which their making is notified in the Gazette. 3Principal RegulationsIn these regulations, the Racing (Electoral) Regulations 2004 are referred to as the Principal Regulations. 4Regulation 3 amended (Interpretation) Regulation 3 of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting "Chief Electoral Officer" from the definition of Returning Officer and substituting "Electoral Commissioner". 5Regulation 4 substituted Regulation 4 of the Principal Regulations is rescinded and the following regulation is substituted: 4Role of Electoral Commissioner The Electoral Commissioner may issue directions and approve procedures, consistent with the Act and these regulations, for the purposes of conducting an election. 6Regulation 5 amended (Role of Returning Officer) Regulation 5 of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting "Chief Electoral Officer" and substituting "Electoral Commissioner". 7Regulation 8 amended (Nomination forms) Regulation 8(2) of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting "Chief Electoral Officer" and substituting "Electoral Commissioner". 8Regulation 18 amended (Ballot papers) Regulation 18(1) of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting "Chief Electoral Officer" and substituting "Electoral Commissioner". 9Regulation 20 amended (Ballot material to be posted to electors) Regulation 20 of the Principal Regulations is amended as follows: (a) by omitting from subregulation (1)(e) "Chief Electoral Officer" and substituting "Electoral Commissioner"; (b) by omitting from subregulation (3) "Chief Electoral Officer" and substituting "Electoral Commissioner". 10Regulation 28 amended (Recounts and by-elections) Regulation 28(1)(a) of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting "Chief Electoral Officer" twice occurring and substituting "Electoral Commissioner". 11Regulation 30 amended (Declaration of result if no ballot required) Regulation 30(c) of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting "Chief Electoral Officer" and substituting "Electoral Commissioner". 12Regulation 31 amended (Declaration of result if ballot required) Regulation 31(c) of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting "Chief Electoral Officer" and substituting "Electoral Commissioner". 13Regulation 32 amended (Declaration of result of recount) Regulation 32 of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting "Chief Electoral Officer" and substituting "Electoral Commissioner". 14Regulation 33 amended (Publication of election result) Regulation 33 of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting "Chief Electoral Officer" and substituting "Electoral Commissioner". 15Regulation 37 amended (Retention of ballot papers) Regulation 37(1) of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting "Chief Electoral Officer" twice occurring and substituting "Electoral Commissioner". 16Regulation 38 amended (Costs of elections) Regulation 38 of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting "Chief Electoral Officer" and substituting "Electoral Commissioner".
