An Act to Amend “ The Racing and Betting Act of T he R acing and B etting 1954,” in certain particulars. A ct A mendment A ct of 1957. [A ssented to 20 th D ecember , 1957.] E it enacted by the Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty, B by and with the advice and consent of the Legis­ lative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:— Short title 1. (1.) This Act may be cited as “ The Racing and Betting Act Amendment Act of 1957.” Principal (2.) *“ The Racing and Betting Act of 1954,” is in Act. this Act referred to as the Principal Act. Collective (3.) The Principal Act and this Act may be title. collectively cited as “ The Racing and Betting Acts, 1954 to 1957.” Amendment 2. Section fifty-eight of the Principal Act is of s. 58. amended by repealing subsection one thereof and inserting, in lieu of that repealed subsection, the following subsection:— “ (1.) A totalisator license shall authorise the licensee to operate, subject in every respect to the requirements of this Act, a totalisator of the class or totalisators respectively of the classes specified in the license.” Amendment 3. Section one hundred and nine of the Principal of 8. 109. Act is amended— (a) By repealing, in subsection three thereof, the word “ two ”, where that word appears twice, and inserting, in lieu of that word where so repealed, the word “ one ” ; and (6) By repealing, in subsection four thereof, the word “ two ”, where that word appears twice, and inserting, in lieu of that word where so repealed, the word “ one ”. * 3 Eliz. 2 No. 54.
