I, Jack Richard Face, Minister for Gaming and Racing, in pursuance of section 28

(3) of the Racing Administration Act 1998 make the following Order.

Explanatory note

Under amendments to the Racing Administration Act 1998 made by the Racing and Totalizator Legislation Amendment Act 2000, information relating to the dividends or betting odds payable in respect of totalizator operations conducted in another country may be published by a person or body prescribed by the regulations under certain conditions. In particular, it may be published where:

(a)	the totalizator operation is conducted by a person or body authorised under the law of that country to conduct totalizator operations, and
(b)	the person or body is specified, or is of a class or description of persons or bodies specified, by the Minister by an order published in the Gazette, and
(c)	the information relates to an event, or an event of a class or description of events, so specified by the Minister.

The object of this Order is to so specify persons, bodies and events for the purposes of section 28 (3) of the Racing Administration Act 1998.

1     Name of Order

This Order is the Racing Administration (Overseas Totalizators)

Order 2001.

2 Commencement

This Order commences on 25 May 2001.

3 Definition

In this Order:
the Act means the Racing Administration Act 1998.

4     Persons or bodies that may publish information

The following persons or bodies, or classes or descriptions of persons or bodies, are specified for the purposes of section 28 (3) (b) of the Act:

(a)	New Zealand Totalizator Agency Board, New Zealand,
(b)	Canadian Pari-Mutuel Association, Canada,
(c)	Japan Racing Association, Japan,
(d)	Singapore Turf Club, Singapore,
(e)	Hong Kong Jockey Club, Hong Kong,
(f)	Golden Circle Group, South Africa,
(g)	Phumelela Group, South Africa,
(h)	the person or body that conducts, from time to time, the totalizator operation at Arlington International, Illinois, United States of America,

(i)        the person or body that conducts, from time to time, the totalizator operation at Calder Park, Florida, United States of America,

(j) the person or body that conducts, from time to time, the totalizator operation at Churchill Downs, Kentucky, United States of America,

(k)	the person or body that conducts, from time to time, the totalizator operation at Ellis Park, Kentucky, United States of America,
(l)	the person or body that conducts, from time to time, the totalizator operation at Hollywood Park, California, United States of America,
(m)	the person or body that conducts, from time to time, the totalizator operation at Hoosier Park, Indiana, United States of America.

5     Specification of events

The following events, or classes or descriptions of events, are specified for the purposes of section 28 (3) (c) of the Act:

(a)	horse racing,
(b)	harness racing,
(c)	greyhound racing.
