Her Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the Racing Administration Act 1998.

Explanatory note

Under amendments to the Racing Administration Act 1998 made by the Racing and Totalizator Legislation Amendment Act 2000, information relating to the dividends or betting odds payable in respect of totalizator operations conducted in another country may be published by a person or body prescribed by the regulations under certain conditions. In particular, it may be published where:

(a)	the totalizator operation is conducted by a person or body authorised under the law of that country to conduct totalizator operations, and
(b)	the person or body is specified, or is of a class or description of persons or bodies specified, by the Minister by an order published in the Gazette, and
(c)	the information relates to an event, or an event of a class or description of events, so specified by the Minister.

The object of this Regulation is to prescribe persons or bodies that may publish such information for the purposes of section 28 (3) of the Racing Administration Act 1998.

1     Name of Regulation

This Regulation is the Racing Administration Amendment (Overseas

Totalizators) Regulation 2001.

2 Commencement

This Regulation commences on 25 May 2001.

3 Amendment of Racing Administration Regulation 1999

The Racing Administration Regulation 1999 is amended as set out in

Schedule 1.

4 Notes

The explanatory note does not form part of this Regulation.

Clause 4A Exemption from prohibition on publication of information relating to dividends or betting odds: sec 28 (2) and (3)

Insert “and (3)” after “section 28 (2)”.
