INSORIPTION W· J AOT AMENDMENT AOT OF WOl. Prpamble. [ASSENTED TO 26TH SEPTEMBER, 1901. HEREAS by an Act of the Imperial Parliament of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland intituled "The Colonial Stock Act, 1877,"* it is enacted that, o~ provision being made by the legislature of a colony and otherwise for the inscription and transfer in a register * 40 & 41 Vie. e. 59, supra, page 3815.

Quee'llSland Stock Inscription ..dct Amendment Act. kept in the United Kingdom by some bank, colonial officer, -or person (therein referred to as the registrar) of any stock forming the whole 01' part of the public debt of such colony, and upon a certain declaration in respect of the stock therein specified being made and recorded as in the said Act mentioned that Act shall apply to the stock so specified: And whereas in the said Act it is further pro- vided that in any legal proceeding in a court in the United Kingdom in relation to the register of colonial stock to which that Act applies or to an entry in or omission from such register or to a right or title to or interest in any such colonial stock or any dividend thereon, the registrar, whether a party or not to such proceeding, shall comply with any order made by such court in relation to the matters aforesaid, and that where proceedings are had upon any petition of right in England in relation to such stock or dividend presented by any person claiming to be interested in the same the judgment, decree, rule, or order of the court shall be complied with by the registrar or other agent of the Oolonial Government having possession in England -of moneys of such Government: And whereas hy "The Queensland Stook Inscription Aot of 1883"* provision is made for the inscription and transfer of Queensland stock in a register kept in the United Kingdom by a registrar appointed in pursuance of the said Act: And whereas it is desirable to make provision for meeting any liability of such registrar under the above recited provisions of " The Oolonial Stock Act, 1877" : t Be it therefore enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Oouncil and Legislative Assem bly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows : - 1. This Act may be cited as "The Queensland Stock S!J.ort title. Inscription Act Amendment Aot of 1901." 2. II An Act to Authorise the Issue of Treasury Bills in Aid THE of the Revenue. TREAScRY BILLS ACT [ASSENTED TO 17TH SEPTEMBER, 1901.] B OF 1901. E it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legis- lative Council and Legislative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows : - Short title. 1. This Act may be cited as "The T'I'easu1'Y Bills A.ct of 1901." Treasur;y Bits 2. The Governor in Council may raise by the issue of ~ ~ . v£ ~ ~ ~~ ~ ~~ ~ Treasury Bills any sum or sums of money not exceeding in the whole the sum of five hundred and thirty thousand pounds, for the purposes and subject to the provisions hereinafter expressed.
