s1 2 s6 Queensland Marine (Pleasure Yacht Equipment) Amendment (No. 1) No. 122, 1994 ˙ Short title 1. This regulation may be cited as the Queensland Marine (Pleasure Yacht Equipment) Amendment Regulation (No. 1) 1994 . ˙ Commencement 2. This regulation commences on 1 July 1994. ˙ Regulation amended 3. This regulation amends the Queensland Marine (Pleasure Yacht Equipment) Regulation 1971 . ˙ Amendment of s 4 (Definitions) 4. Section 4— insert— ‘ “EPIRB” means an emergency position indicating radio beacon; “MS” means a standard made by a minister under the Radiocommunications Act 1983 (Cwlth); “partially smooth water limits” has the meaning given by the Queensland Marine (Motor Boat and Motor Vessel) Regulation 1975 ; ’. ˙ Amendment of s 5 5. Section 5(4)— omit . ˙ Insertion of new s 6B 6. After section 6A— insert—
s6 3 s6 Queensland Marine (Pleasure Yacht Equipment) Amendment (No. 1) No. 122, 1994 ˙ ‘EPIRB must be carried on waters ‘6B.(1) A vessel on waters must carry an EPIRB complying with— (a) MS 241; or (b) MS 309. ‘(2) In this section— “land” includes a part of the earth’s surface (other than a reef) above the highest water on the day the vessel is on waters; “waters” means Queensland waters outside— (a) smooth water limits; and (b) partially smooth water limits; and (c) 2 n miles 1 of land. ’.
