This order in council may be cited as the Queensland Law Society Rules Amendment Order 1991 . Amended order in council 2. The Schedule to the order in council made on 25 June 1987, and published in the Gazette on 27 June 1987 at pages 2079-2122, is amended as set out in this order in council.

2 Queensland Law Society Rules Order 1991 Definitions 3. In this order in council— “rules” means the Rules of the Queensland Law Society Incorporated set out in the Schedule. Name of provision units 4.(1) A provision of the rules that was, immediately before the commencement of this section, called a rule may be called a section. (2) A provision of the rules that was, immediately before the commencement of this section, called a subrule may be called a subsection. (3) A reference in the rules to a rule or subrule of the rules designated by a number is a reference to a section or subsection of the rules designated by that number. Insertion of new s.1A 5. After section 1— insert— ‘Short title ‘1A. These rules may be cited as the Queensland Law Society Rules 1987 . ’. Amendment of s.82 (Duty to give explanation) 6. Section 82(1) (after ‘ Society ’ )— insert ‘ ,or where the Council so resolves, ’. Amendment of s.85 7. Section 85 (after ‘ A practitioner ’ )— insert ‘ ,or a firm of practitioners, ’.
