43 WItunsf u be ANNO SEXTO DECIMO ELIZABETHAE SECUNDAE REGINAE No. 12 of 1967 An Act to Amend "The Queensland Law Society Acts, 1952 to 1963," in certain particulars [ASSENTED TO 5TH APRIL, 1967] BE IT ENACTED by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:- 1. (1) Short title . This Act may be cited as " The Queensland Law Society Acts Amendment Act of 1967." (2) Principal Act. " The Queensland Law Society Acts, 1952 to 1963 " are herein referred to as the Principal Act. (3) Collective title . The Principal Act and this Act may be collectively cited as " The Queensland Law Society Acts, 1952 to 1967."
44 Queensland Law Society Acts Amendment Act of 1967, No. 12 2. Amendment of s. 5 (1). Subsection (1) of section five of the Principal Act is amended by- (a) in the words preceding paragraph (a) omitting the words " eight nor more than eleven " and inserting in their stead the words " ten nor more than thirteen "; and (b) in paragraph (c) omitting the words " five nor more than eight " and inserting in their stead the words " seven nor more than ten ". 3. Appointment of additional members by Council. The Council may at any time after the passing of this Act appoint to the Council not more than two members of the Society. Such an appointee shall be deemed to have been elected a member of the Council by the practitioners pursuant to the Principal Act as amended by this Act and, subject to the Principal Act, shall hold office as a member of the Council during the remainder of the term of office current at the passing of this Act of the elective members of the Council then in office. This section shall cease to be in force on and from the day of the expiration of the term of office of the elective members of the Council current at the passing of this Act.
