169 Q1tte.tnsfaltl ANNO SEXTO DECIMO ELIZABETHAE SECUNDAE REGINAE No. 26 of 1967 An Act to Amend "The Queensland Law Society Acts, 1952 to 1967," in certain particulars [ASSENTED TO 3RD NOVEMBER, 1967] BE IT ENACTED by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:- 1. (1) Short title . This Act may be cited as " The Queensland Law Society Acts Amendment Act of 1967 (No. 2)." (2) Principal Act. " The Queensland Law Society Acts, 1952 to 1967," are in this Act referred to as the Principal Act. (3) Collective title . The Principal Act and this Act may be collectively cited as " The Queensland Law Society Acts, 1952 to 1967." 2. Amendment of s. 20 . Section twenty of the Principal Act is amended by omitting the words " seventy-five thousand pounds " where appearing three times and inserting in their stead the words " six hundred thousand dillars ". 3. Amendment of s. 24 (1). Subsection (1) of section twenty-four of the Principal Act is amended by adding to the proviso the following paragraphs :- I (g) In respect of any such stealing or fraudulent misappropriation committed partly before the first day of July one thousand nine hundred and sixty-seven and partly on or after such date, or committed wholly after such date, the sum of sixty thousand dollars;
170 Queensland Law Society Acts Amendment Act (No. 2) of 1967, No. 26 (h) In respect of any such stealing or fraudulent misappropriation committed partly before the date specified by the Governor in Council by Order in Council (the making whereof from time to time is hereby thereunto authorized) on the recommendation of the Council and partly on or after such date or committed wholly after such date, the sum prescribed in such Order in Council." 4. Amendment of s. 35. Section thirty-five of the Principal Act is amended by adding the following paragraph:- " It is hereby declared that, in this section, the term " practitioner includes, and always has included, a person who ceases to be qualified or entitled to practise as, or who becomes disqualified from practising, or disentitled to practise as, a solicitor or conveyancer."
