B E it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legis- lative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:- 1. This Act may be cited as "The Queensland Law Short title. Society Acts Amendment Act of 1939." This Act shall be read together with *" The c.onstruo. Queensland Law Society Acts, 1927 to 1938" (being t" The tlOn. Queensland Law Society Act of 1927" and t" The Queensland Law Society Act Amendment Act of 1930" as amended by §" The Queensland Law Society Acts Amendment Act of 1938"). *" The Queensland Law Society Acts 1927 to 1938" Colleotive and this Act may be collectively 'cited as "The title. Queensland Law Society Acts, 1927 to 1939." 11" The Queensland Law Society Acts, 1930 to 1938 " (being t"The Qu,eensland Law Society Act Amendment Act of 1930" as amended by §" The Queensland Law Society Acts Amendment Act of 1938") and this Act may be cited separately as "The Queensland Law Society Acts, 1930 to 1939." 2. (1.) Paragraph (b) of the proviso to subsection Amendment one of section sixteen of *" The Queensland Law Society of B. 16 (1) Act Amendment Act of 1930" is repealed and the following ~ ~ ~ : o~ ~ new paragraphs (b) to (f) both inclusive, are inserted in No. 46. lieu thereof, namely ;- " (b) In respect of any such stealing or fraudulent misappropriation committed partly before the first day of July, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-six, and partly in the year ending the thirtieth day of June, * 18 Geo. No. 33, 1939. one thousand nine hundred and thirty-seven, or wholly in such last-mentioned year, the sum of six thousand pounds_ (c) In respect of any such stealing or fraudulent misappropriation committed partly before the first day of July, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-seven, and partly during the year ending the thirtieth day of June, one ~ housand nine hundred and thirty-eight, or wholly in such last-mentioned year, the sum of seven thousand pounds_ (d) In respect of any such stealing or fraudulent misappropriation. committed partly before the first day of July, one thousand nine hundred and thirty- eight, and partly in the year ending the thirtieth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and thirtv-nine, or wholly in such last-mentioned year, the sum of eight thousand pounds. (e) In respect of any such stealing or fraudulent misappropriation committed partly before the first day of July, one thousand nine hundred and thirty- nine, and partly in the year ending the thirtieth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and forty, or wholly in such last-mentioned year, the sum of nine thousand pounds. (j) In respect of any such stealing or fraudulent misappropriation committed partly before the first day of July, one thousand nine hundred and forty, and partly on or after such date, or committed wholly after such date, the sum of ten thousand pounds." Retroepec- tivityof (2.) The amendment made to subsection one of amendment. section sixteen of *" The Queensland Law Society Act Amendment Act of 1930" by subsection one of this section shall be deemed to have been so made on and from the date of the passing of that Act and to the intent that the said subsection one of section sixteen shall be deemed to have always had force and effect as so amended as and from such date. * 21 Geo.
