Short title and citation . (1) This Act may be cited as the Queensland Law Society Act Amendment Act 1971. (2) The Queensland Law Society Act of 1952 as amended from time to time is in this Act referred to as the Principal Act. (3) The Principal Act as amended by this Act may be cited as the Queensland Law Society Act 1952-1971.

850 Queensland Law Society Act Amendment Act 1971, No. 64 2. Amendment of s. 24. Application of Fund. Section 24 of the Principal Act is amended by adding the following subsection:- " (4) Notwithstanding any other provision of this section to the contrary, if in any particular case after taking'into account all liabilities of the Fund whether ascertained or contingent, the 'Council considers that the assets of the Fund so permit, the Council may apply out of the Fund such sum in excess of the total amount limited by or under this section as the Council thinks fit in or towards the reimbursement of persons who suffer pecuniary loss as specified in subsection (4) of this section.".
