2 Queensland Commercial Fishermen’s Organisation Amendment Regulation Short title 1. This regulation may be cited as the Queensland Commercial Fishermen’s Organisation Amendment Regulation 1991 . Amended regulation 2. The Queensland Commercial Fishermen’s Organisation Regulations 1989 are amended as set out in this regulation. Name of provision units 3.(1) A provision of the Queensland Commercial Fishermen’s Organisation Regulations 1989 that was, immediately before the commencement of this section, called a regulation may be called a section. (2) A provision of the Queensland Commercial Fishermen’s Organisation Regulations 1989 that was, immediately before the commencement of this section, called a subregulation may be called a subsection. (3) A reference in the Queensland Commercial Fishermen’s Organisation Regulations 1989 to a regulation or subregulation of the regulations designated by a number is a reference to a section or subsection of the regulations designated by that number. Replacement of s.1 (Short title) 4. Section 1 omit, insert— ‘Short title

Amendment of s.11 (President and Vice President) 5. Section 11(7)— omit, insert— ‘(7) A person elected to be a Vice President holds that office until— (a) the commencement of the first annual meeting after the meeting at which the person was elected; or (b) the person— (i) vacates that office; or (ii) is removed from that office by a special meeting; or (iii) ceases to be a representative of a commercial fishermen’s local branch on the State Council; whichever event first occurs. ’. Amendment of s.16 (Meetings of State Council) 6.(1) Section 16(9)— omit — ‘ one-third ’ insert — ‘ 50% (one-half) ’ ; (2) At the end of section 16(18)— after “deliberative vote”— insert—

4 Queensland Commercial Fishermen’s Organisation Amendment Regulation ‘ except when— (a) a representative of a commercial fishermen’s local branch chairs any part of a meeting; and (b) that branch does not have a deputy at the meeting; in which case the person chairing the meeting shall have both a deliberative and casting vote ’.
