Queensland Building and Construction Commission Amendment Regulation (No. 1) 2016 (Qld)

1   Short title

This regulation may be cited as the Queensland Building and Construction Commission Amendment Regulation (No. 1) 2016 .

2   Commencement

This regulation commences on 1 April 2016.

3   Regulation amended

This regulation amends the Queensland Building and Construction Commission Regulation 2003 .

4   Amendment of sch 2, pt 4 (Builder—low rise licence)

Schedule 2, part 4, section 2(4)—
insert—

(c)for building work mentioned in subsection (2A)—directly or indirectly causing the work to be carried out or providing building work services for the work if—

(i)a fire protection licence is required for the work; and

(ii)the work is—

(A)for Type A or Type B construction on classes 2 to 9 buildings; or

(B)on classes 2 to 9 buildings with a gross floor area exceeding 2000m2.

5   Amendment of sch 2, pt 5 (Builder—medium rise licence)

Schedule 2, part 5, section 2(4)—
insert—

(c)for building work mentioned in subsection (2A)—directly or indirectly causing the work to be carried out or providing building work services for the work if—

(i)a fire protection licence is required for the work; and

(ii) the work is—

(A)for Type A construction on classes 4 to 9 buildings; or

(B)to more than 3 storeys.
