ACTS AMENDMENT [ASSENTED TO 30TH MARCH, 1951.] ACT OF 1951. B E it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, _ by and with the advice and consent of the Legis- lative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:- Short title 1. (1.) This Act may be cited as " The Queensland- : ~ ~ struction. British Food Production Acts Amendment Act of 1951," and shall be read as one with *" The Queensland-British Food Production Acts, 1948 to 1950," herein referred to as the Principal Act. Section three of the Principal Act is amended OfB.3. by repealing therein the definition "Overseas Food Corporation ". Amendments OfB.4. 3. Section four of the Principal Act is amended- (a) By repealing the word " subsection " where that word appears in subsection two of that section and by inserting, in lieu of that repealed word, the word " section ". (b) By repealing the words "Overseas Food Corporation" where those words appear twice in subsection three of that section and by inserting, in lieu of those words where so repealed, the words " Minister of Food of the United Kingdom". * 12 G. 6 No. 16 and amending Act.

(c) By repealing the words "Overseas Food Corporation" where those words appear in subsection six of that section and by inserting, in lieu of those repealed words, the words "Minister of Food of the United Kingdom ". 4. Subsection three of section seven of the Principal AmendmiJnt Act is amended by repealing therein the words "that of s. 7 (3). he is also a member of the Overseas Food Corporation" and by inserting, in lieu of those repealed words, the words "that he also holds office under the Crown in right of the United Kingdom ". 5. Subsection one of section eight of the Principal Amendment Act is amended by repealing therein the words" Overseas ofs. 8 (1). Food Corporation" and by inserting, in lieu of those repealed words, the words "Minister of Food for the United Kingdom ". 6. Section nine of the Principal Act is amended-Amendments of s. 9. (a) By repealing the words "determined by the Overseas Food Corporation and approved by the Minister" where those words appear in subsection one of that section and by inserting, in lieu of those repealed words, the words " mutually determined by the Minister of Food for the United Kingdom and the Minister" ; and by repealing the words "and approved" where those words appear at the end of the said subsection one. . (b) By repealing the words "determined by the Overseas Food Corporation and approved by the Minister" where those words appear in subsection two of that section and by inserting, in lieu of those repealed words, the words " mutually determined by the Minister of Food for the United Kingdom and the Minister." (c) By repealing the words "determined by the Overseas Food Corporation with the consent of the Minister" where those words appear in subsection three of that section and by inserting, in lieu of those repealed words, the words " mutually determined by the Minister of Food for the United Kingdom and the Minister". 7. Section ten of the Principal Act is amended by Amendment repealing the words "Overseas Food Corporation to of s. 10. their consent" where those words appear in paragraph (e) of that section and by inserting, in lieu of those repealed words, the words "Minister of Food for the United Kingdom to his consent".

Section thirteen of the Principal Act is amended of s. 13. by adding thereto the following paragraph, namely:- " The Corporation shall also furnish to the Minister of Food for the United Kingdom a copy of the report." Amendment of s. 14 (2). 9. Subsection two of section fourteen of the Principal A-ct is amended by adding to the first paragraph thereof the words "with the approval of the Minister given with the consent of the Minister of Food for the United Kingdom". Amendment 1O. Subsection two of section fifteen of the Principal of s. 15 (2). Act is amended by repealing the words "by the Corporation for such purposes of the Corporation as they may determine" and by inserting, in lieu of those repealed words, the words "as the Corporation may determine with the approval of the Minister given with the consent of the Minister of Food for the United Kingdom." Amendment 11. Subsection three of section sixteen of the of B. 16 (3). Amendment 13. Subsection two of section twenty-one of the of s. 21 (2). Principal Act is amended by repealing therein the words " Overseas Food Corporation " and by inserting, in lieu of those repealed words, the words, "Minister of Food for the United Kingdom". Amendments 14. Section twenty-three of the Principal Act is of s. 23. amended as follows :_ (a) Paragraph (a) of subsection two of that section is amended by repealing therein the words "Overseas Food Corporation" and by inserting, in lieu of those repealed words, the words "Minister of Food for the United Kingdom".

(b) Paragraph (c) of subsection two of that section is amended by repealing therein the words "Overseas Food Corporation" and by inserting, in lieu of those repealed words, the words "Minister of Food for the United Kingdom." (c) Paragraph (i.) of subsection three of that section is amended by repealing therein the words "Overseas Food Corporation" and by inserting, in lieu of those repealed words, the words "Minister of Food for the United Kingdom". (d) Subsection four of that section is repealed. (e) Subsection five of that section is repealed and, in lieu of that repealed subsection, the following sub- section is inserted, namely :- "(5.) The Corporation shall in respect of the repayment of the principal moneys and the payment of interest on what is outstanding for the time being of- (a) Advances made to the Corporation by the Minister of Food for the United Kingdom or made to the Corporation before the passing of *" The Queensland-British Food Production Act Amendment Act of 1951," by the Overseas Food Corporation; or (b) Advances made to the Corporation by the Treasurer, make to the Minister of Food for the United Kingdom or to the Treasurer payments, at such times, in such manner and of such amounts as the said Minister or, as the case may be, the Treasurer requires. Interest as aforesaid shall be at such rate as the said Minister or the Treasurer requires and different rates of interest may be required in respect of different advances and in respect of different periods." (f) Subsection six of that section is amended by repealing the words "Overseas Food Corporation" and by inserting, in lieu of those repealed words, the words" Minister of Food for the United Kingdom". 15. Subsection one of section twenty-four of the Amendment Principal Act is amended by repealing the words of s. 24 (1). "Overseas Food Corporation" wherever those words appear in that subsection and by inserting, in lieu of those repealed. words, where so repealed, the words " Minister of Food for the United Kingdom." * This Act.
312 Savings. AGRICULTURE-BRISBANE. City of Brisbane Acts Amendment Act. 14 GEO. VI. No. 19, 16. (1.) The amendments made by this Act to the Principal Act shall not affect the continuity of the identity or, except as hereinafter provided in this section, any rights or obligations of the Corporation established in accordance with the Principal Act, or the tenure of office of any member of that Corporation holding office at the date of the coming into operation of this Act. (2.) As from the coming into operation of this Act there shall be transferred to the Minister of Food for the United Kingdom all rights of the Overseas Food Corporation in respect of advances made by the Overseas Food Corporation to the Corporation established in accordance with the Principal Act; and that last- mentioned Corporation shall take all such steps within their power as may be necessary for giving full effect to the said transfer. [ASSENTED TO 30TH NOVEMBER, 1950.] B E it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legis- lative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows :-- Short title 1. This Act may be cited as " The Oity of Brisbane :::atruction. Acts Amendment Act of 1950," and shall be read as one with *" The Oity of Brisbane Acts, 1924 to 1949," herein referred to as the Principal Act. Collective The Principal Act and this Act may be collectively title. cited as " The Oity of Brisbane Acts, 1924 to 1950." Amendment 2. Subsection one of section five of the Principal ofB.5. Act is repealed and the following subsection is inserted in lieu thereof, namely :- "(1.) On and from the conclusion of the triennial election of the Mayor and aldermen to be holden in the year one thousand nine hundred and fifty-two, the City shall be governed by a Council composed of twenty-five aldermen, consisting of the Mayor and twenty-four other aldermen." * 15 G. 5 No. 32 and amending Acts.
