An Act to authorize the Granting of Leases of certain Crown Land in the Township of Queenscliff.

Preamble

WHEREAS the land shown hatched on the plan in the Schedule hereto is Crown land permanently reserved by Order in Council dated 28th April, 1873 as a site for public purposes:

AND WHEREAS it is expedient to authorize the Governor in Council to grant leases of the land so hatched for the purpose of a sea pilots station:

BE IT THEREFORE ENACTED by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Victoria in this present Parliament assembled and by the authority of the same as follows (that is to say):

1.Short title and commencement

(1)This Act may be cited as the Queenscliff Land Act 1978.

(2)This Act shall come into operation on the day on which it receives the Royal Assent.

2.Power to Governor in Council to grant leases

Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in the Land Act 1958 or any other Act or law the Governor in Council may from time to time in accordance with the provisions of section 134 of that Act grant leases of the land shown hatched on the plan in the Schedule for the purposes of a sea pilots station and amenities connected therewith, including the erection of buildings.

The Queenscliff Land Act 1978 was assented to on 17 October 1978 and came into operation on 17 October 1978: section 1(2).
