regard to the construction of works of water supply for

the said municif):ditv and the supply of water by the Commonwealth for distribution by such works : And whereas it is desirable tliat, subject to this Act, the works should be constructed by the Seciadary for Public Works under tlie provisions of the Public Works Act, 1012; Be it therefore enacted by the Kind’s Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly of New South lYales in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows :—

1 . (1) This Act mav be cited as the “ Queanbevan shoii title

Water Supply Act, W i ’i . ”

(2) This Act shall come into operation on a date to be appointed by the Governor and notified in the Gazette.

2 .    (1) The carrying out of the works described in the Work

Schedule to this Act is hereby sanctioned, and the Secretary for Public IVorks is empowered to carry out the said works under the provisions of the Public AVorks Act, 1912.

(2)

The said works shall lie deemed to be authorised

works within the meaning of the Public M^orks Act,

1912.

(.3) The provisions of section thirty-four and thirty-tive of the Public M'orks Act, 1912, shall not apply in respect of the said works.

3 . The carrying out of the said works described in Cost,

the Schedule, exclusive of land resumptions, is estimated at twenty-six thousand two hundred pounds, and such estimated cost shall not, under any circumstances, be exceeded by more than ten per centum.

4 . The plan of the works set out in the Schedule is I'lau.

the plan marked “ Queanbeyan M'ater Supply,” signed by the St'cretary for Public AV̂ orks and countersigned by the Chief Engineer for Water Supply and Sewerage, and deposited in the office of the said Secretary.

5 . If the council of the Municipality of Queanbeyan Receiver,

makes default for three months in the due payment of any amounts payable to tin* Commonwealth of Australia under any agreement for the supply of Avater by the
