REGULATION UNDER THE QUARANTINE ACT 1908-1924.*

THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the
advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulation
under the

Amendment of the Quarantine (Plants) Regulations.
Regulation 21 of the Quarantine (Plants) Regulations is amended by adding at the end thereof the following sub-regulation:—
“E.—(1.) In the case of vegetables from any country, a certificate dated and signed by a responsible officer of the Department of Agriculture of the country of origin identifying the vegetables, stating the quantity, and certifying—
(
a ) that they were grown in the country named;(
b ) that the pest known as Cabbage Butterfly (Pieris rapae (L.)) does not exist in the part of the country in which they were grown;(
c ) that they were, on inspection prior to shipment, found to be free fromPieris rapae (L.); and(
d ) that they were packed in the country of origin in clean new packages.
“(2.) For the purposes of this sub-regulation ‘vegetables’
means borecole, broccoli, brussels sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower, chou
moellier, horse radish, kohl rabi, radish, rape, swedes, turnip or any
vegetable whatsoever of the family
