REGULATION UNDER THE QUARANTINE ACT 1908-1924.*

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulation under the Quarantine Act 1908-1924.

Amendment of the Quarantine (Plants) Regulations.

Certificates, permits, &c.

Regulation 21 of the Quarantine (Plants) Regulations is amended—

(a) by inserting in sub-paragraph (1.) of paragraph E, after the word “country” (first occurring), the words “(other than swedes from New Zealand)”; and

(b) by inserting after that sub-paragraph the following sub-paragraph :—

“(1a.) In the case of swedes from New Zealand, a certificate dated and signed by a responsible officer of the Department of Agriculture of that country stating that the swedes have been topped, tailed and washed and are packed in new bags.”.
