Quarantine (Animals) Regulations2
(Amendment)

THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice
of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under
the Quarantine Act 1908.

Commencement
1. These Regulations
shall come into operation on 1 October 1983.

2. Regulation 86d of the Quarantine (Animals)
Regulations is amended—
(a) by omitting from
sub-regulation (1) “Regulation” and substituting “regulation”;
(b) by omitting from
sub-regulation (10) “$3.75” and substituting “$4.20”; and
(c) by omitting from
sub-regulation (11) “$10” (wherever occurring) and substituting “$12”.

3. Regulation 86e of the Quarantine (Animals)
Regulations is amended—
(a) by omitting from
sub-regulation (5) “$3.75” and substituting “$4.20”; and
(b) by omitting from sub-regulation
(6) “$10” (wherever occurring) and substituting “$ 12”.

Delegation
4. Regulation 86H of the
Quarantine (Animals) Regulations is amended by omitting from sub-regulation (7)
“or performed” (wherever occurring).

Schedule 4b
6. Schedule 4b to the Quarantine (Animals)
Regulations is amended by omitting “15” (wherever occurring) and substituting
“30”.
Transitional
7. (1) In sub-regulation (2) the reference to a service relating to a
consignment is—
(a) a reference to a
service within the meaning of regulation 86d
of the Quarantine (Animals) Regulations relating to a consignment within the
meaning of that regulation 86d; or
(b) a reference to a
service within the meaning of regulation 86e
of the Quarantine (Animals) Regulations relating to a consignment within the
meaning of that regulation 86e.
(2) Notwithstanding the amendments effected by these Regulations,
where a service relating to a consignment is provided partly before and partly
after the commencement of these Regulations, the fee prescribed under the
Quarantine (Animals) Regulations that would have been payable in respect of
that service if these Regulations had not been made shall, for the purposes of
Part VIIIa of those Regulations,
be the fee payable in respect of that service.
