Quarantine (Animals) Regulations2

(Amendment)

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Quarantine Act 1908.

Principal Regulations

1. In these Regulations, “Principal Regulations” means the Quarantine (Animals) Regulations.

Animal hair and bristles

2. Regulation 79 of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting subregulation (5).

Repeal of regulations 93 and 95

3. Regulations 93 and 95 of the Principal Regulations are repealed.

Repeal of Schedules 3 and 4

4. Schedules 3 and 4 to the Principal Regulations are repealed.

Other amendments

5. The Principal Regulations are amended as set out in the Schedule.

 

SCHEDULE Regulation 5

OTHER AMENDMENTS OF THE PRINCIPAL REGULATIONS

Subregulation 4 (1) (definition of “England”):

Omit “and Monmouthshire”.

Regulations 72, 73 and 74 and subregulations 75(1) and 76 (1):

(a) Omit “New Hebrides”, substitute “Vanuatu”.

(b) Omit “the Territory of Papua or the Territory of New Guinea”, substitute “the Independent State of Papua New Guinea”.

Subregulation 80 (4)

Omit “the New Hebrides” (wherever occurring), substitute “Vanuatu”.
