Quarantine (Animals) Regulations2

(Amendment)

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Quarantine Act 1908.

Principal Regulations

1. In these Regulations, “Principal Regulations” means the Quarantine (Animals) Regulations.

Notice of arrival

2. Regulation 7 of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting “and declaration in accordance with Form A” and substituting “, in accordance with a form approved by the Director, providing specified information concerning the animals on board the vessel during the voyage”.

Quarantine surveillance

3. Regulation 36 of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting from subregulation (1) “Form B” and substituting “a form approved by the Director”.

Registration of zoological gardens, circuses and theatres

4. Regulation 52 of the Principal Regulations is amended:

(a) by omitting from subregulation (2) “Form C” and substituting “a form approved by the Director”;

(b) by omitting from subregulation (2) “Form D” and substituting “a form approved by the Director”.

Ship’s animals and skins

5. Regulation 59 of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting from paragraph (c) “in accordance with Form E” and substituting “, in accordance with a form approved by the Director, providing specified information concerning any animals, hides and skins on board the vessel during the voyage and the vessel’s ports of call and proposed ports of call.’.

6. The Principal Regulations are amended as set out in the Schedule.

Repeal

7. Schedule 1 to the Principal Regulations is repealed.

 

SCHEDULE Regulation 6

Omit from regulations 72, 73 and 74 and subregulations 75 (1) and 76 (1) “Vanuatu,”, substitute “Vanuatu or”.
