These Regulations are the
Quarantine Amendment Regulations 2002 (No. 1) .
These Regulations commence on gazettal.
Schedule 1 amends the
Quarantine Regulations 2000 .
(regulation 3)
[ 1 ] Regulation 59, definition of prescribed penalty
substitute
prescribed penalty means:
(a) in relation to an infringement notice offence involving goods that:
(i) are prohibited for importation into Australia or the Cocos Islands by a Proclamation under section 13 of the Act; and
(ii) are subject to forfeiture under section 68 of the Act — 2 penalty units; or
(b) in any other case — 1 penalty unit.
