REGULATIONS UNDER THE QUARANTINE ACT 1908-1924.
I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of
Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make
the following Regulations under the

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Quarantine (Air Navigation) Regulations 1934, and shall be read in conjunction with the Quarantine Regulations 1927.
“Master” in relation to a vessel engaged in navigation by air means the person in charge or command of the vessel.
“Authorized aerodrome” means a customs or other aerodrome, specially designated by the competent authority of the country in which it is situated, on which aircraft may make their first landing on entering a territory or which they may make their place of departure on leaving a territory.
(1) the registered marking of the vessel and the expected date and time of arrival in Australia;
(2) the name of the last oversea landing place called at.
Such message must be despatched at such time and place that it will arrive at the first landing place in Australia not less than 3 hours before the expected time of arrival of the vessel.
In the case of a vessel intended to land at Darwin the message shall be addressed to the Administrator, Darwin.
In the case of a vessel intended to land at a landing place other than Darwin the message shall be addressed to the Postmaster at the intended landing place.

This certificate shall be signed by an accredited medical officer of the Health Department of the country concerned.
The form of the certificate shall be as follows:—
I, Medical Officer of the Department of Health at hereby certify that the crew and passengers of the air vessel of which is Master did not show symptoms of any infectious disease at the time of departure from the aerodrome of

The certificate shall be signed by a responsible officer of the Health Department of the country concerned.
The method of treatment shall be the spraying or fumigation of all parts of the interior of the aeroplane with a vapour effective for the destruction of mosquitoes.
The certificate shall be given in the following form:—
I, an officer of the Department of Health at hereby certify that the vessel of which is Master was effectively treated by* for the destruction of mosquitoes immediately before departure from this aerodrome.

This certificate shall be signed by a responsible officer of the Department of Health of the country in which the certificate is given and shall contain an intimation of the office held by the person signing the certificate.

For the purposes of this regulation a person shall be considered adequately immunized against small-pox if he can produce proof of a previous attack of small-pox or if he has been vaccinated within less than three years and has, to the personal knowledge of the certifying medical officer, shown signs of early reaction attesting an adequate immunity.
(2.) Every person who fails to produce a certificate in accordance with the requirements of this regulation shall submit to vaccination and shall be vaccinated on arrival at the first landing place in Australia.
From sunrise to sunset the flag known as flag Q being a yellow flag of six breadths of bunting.
From sunset to sunrise, three lights (two red and one white) of such a character as to be visible on a clear night by any vessel engaged in navigation by air from a distance of two miles, and placed at distances of 6 feet apart in the form of an equilateral triangle.
