T ^T H E REAS, in accordance with the provisions of the Puldic rrenmWe.
AVorks Act, 1900, tlie Legislative Assembly did, by resolution, declare that it was expedient to carry out works in extension of the Pyrmont bridge now in course of construction : And whereas on the passing of the said resolution a statutory duty was by the said Act imposed on the Secretary for Public AÂ orks to introduce a Bill into the said Assembly to sanction the carrying out of the said AVorks : Be it therefore enacted by the King’s Alost Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly of New South AVales in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as folloAvs:—

1 . This Act maybe cited as the “ Pvrmont Bridge Extension short title.

2. The carrying out of the said works (more particularly Work sanctioned,
described in the Scliedule to this Act) is hereby sanctioned; and the Secretary for Public AVorks, or tlie member of the Executive Council for tho” time being performing the duties of the said Secretary, is hereby authorised to undertake and carry out the said Avorks subject to the provisions of this Act, and for that purpose shall be, and shall have the poAvers and duties of, a Constructing Authority, Avitliin the meaning of the Public APorks Act, 1900.
3. The plan of the said Avorks is the plan marked “ Pyrmont rian of work.
Bridge, proposed extension,” signed by the Secretary for Public AVorks, and countersigned by the Commissioner and Principal Engineer for Loads and Bridges, and deposited in the public office of the said Secretary.
4 . The cost of carrying out the said AVorks, estimated at thirty Cost, how to be
thousand pounds, may bo defrayed from such Loan A'otes as are noAV
or may hereafter be applicable to that purpose, and sliall not under any circumstances exceed the estimated cost by more than ten per centum.
SCHEDULE.
Works in extension of Pyrmont bridge.
The works consist of the raising of the Sydney approach and the extension thereof to its intersection will) Su8sc.x-street, and the providing of a steel overbridge in lino of AAliarf-street, giving three openings with tlio necessary headway for the passage of traffic tliereundcr.
The works above described are subject to such alterations in existing street and
other levels, and such iiiodillcatious or omissions as the Constructing Authority^ may
