PURE FOOD (AMENDMENT) ACT.

Act No. 9, 1953.

Elizabeth II, All Act to increase the penalties for certain Mo.̂ 953. offences under the Pure Food Act, 1908-1944;

for this purpose to amend the said Act; and for purposes connected therewith. [Assented to, 25th September, 1953.]

T IF it enacted by the Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty, U by and tvitli the advice and consent of the Legis­ lative Council and Legislative Assembly of New South Wales in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows;—■

Short title

1. (1) This Act may be cited as the “ Pure Food

and

citation.

(Amendment) Act, 1953”.

(2) The Pure Food Act, 1908, as amended by subse­ quent Acts and bv this Act, may be cited as the Pure Pood Act, 1908-1953.

2. The Pure Food Act, 1908-1944, is amended—

(a)

by omitting from subsection one of section thirty- ofAct No? six the words “ twenty pounds” , “ fifty pounds” 3i, 1908.

penalties not exceeding fifty pounds for the first

otfence, not exceeding one hundred pounds for

the second offence and not exceeding two hund­

red and fifty pounds for any subsequent otfence,

and a continuing penalty not exceeding five

pounds per diem, for a contravention of any

provision of the regulations.”
