Public Works Tender Board Amendment Order 1998

I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, exercising the Royal Prerogative and acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following order-in-council.4 May 1998

1Short titleThis order-in-council may be cited as the Public Works Tender Board Amendment Order 1998 . 2CommencementThis order-in-council takes effect on the day on which its making is notified in the Gazette. 3Principal OrderIn this order-in-council, the Public Works Tender Board Order 1997 is referred to as the Principal Order. 4Clause 6 amended (Constitution of Board) Clause 6 of the Principal Order is amended by omitting subclause (1) and substituting the following subclause: (1)  The Board consists of 5 members nominated by the Minister and appointed by the Governor. 5Clause 10 substitutedClause 10 of the Principal Order is repealed and the following clause is substituted: 10Remuneration of members (1)  Subject to subclause (2) , a member is entitled to be paid such remuneration, including travelling and other allowances, as the Minister may determine. (2)  A member who is employed under the Tasmanian State Service Act 1984 is not entitled to remuneration under subclause (1) except with the approval of the Minister.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the order) This order-in-council amends the

(a) by removing the requirement that a proportion of the members of the Public Works Tender Board are to be drawn from the private sector and the remainder are to be Government employees;and (b) by substituting the provision relating to the remuneration of members.
