An Act to amend the Public Works Committee Act 1914

[Royal Assent 17 December 2001]

Be it enacted by His Excellency the Governor of Tasmania, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and House of Assembly, in Parliament assembled, as follows:

1Short titleThis Act may be cited as the Public Works Committee Amendment Act 2001 . 2CommencementThis Act commences on the day on which this Act receives the Royal Assent. 3Principal ActIn this Act, the Public Works Committee Act 1914 is referred to as the Principal Act. 4Section 15 amended (Functions of Committee) Section 15(1) of the Principal Act is amended by omitting "$1 000 000" and substituting "$2 000 000". 5Section 16 amended (Conditions precedent to commencing public works) Section 16 of the Principal Act is amended as follows: (a) by omitting from subsection (1) "$1 000 000" and substituting "$2 000 000"; (b) by omitting from subsection (3) "Minister of Lands and Works" and substituting "Minister administering the Public Works Construction Act 1880 ". 6Section 17 amended (Power of House of Assembly to extend Act) Section 17 of the Principal Act is amended by omitting "$1 000 000" and substituting "$2 000 000".
