AN ACT to amend sections two and five of the Public

Works Act, 1902-1933.

BE it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legis- lative Council and Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:-

Short title.

1. This Act may be cited as the Public Works Act Amendment Act, 1945, and shall be read as one with the Public Works Act, 1902-1933 (No. 47 of 1902 as reprinted in the Appendix to the Sessional Volume of the Statutes for the year 1927 and amended by the Act No. 35 of 1933), hereinafter referred to as the principal Act.

(3) The Minister in office at the commencement of corporate.

this subsection and his successors in office shall for the purposes of this Act become and continue to be a body corporate under the name of the "Minister for Works" with perpetual succession and a Com- mon Seal; and by that name shall be capable of suing and being sued, acquiring, holding, letting and taking land on lease, and alienating real and personal property, and of doing and suffering all such other acts and things as may be necessary or expedient for carrying out the purposes of this Act.
