Short title.

1 . This Act may bc citcd as the “ Public "Watering-places Act

of 1884” and shall come into force on the first day of January next.

Interpretation.

2 . lu this Act if uot inconsistent with the context—

“ Governor” means the Governor with the advice of the Execu­

tive Council.

“ Minister” means the Minister charged with the administration

of this Act.

“ Beserves” means all sutdi places as shall be declared to bc

travelling stock and camping rt'serves.

“ Public "VYatcring-places” means all such reserves as shall be

doclart'd to bc ptiblic watering-places under this Act.

“ Inspector” means any person Avho may be appointed an

inspector under this Act.

“ Stock”

’Public Watering-places (No. 2).

“ Stock ” means any horse mare gelding colt filly ass mule bull

coAV ox lieifer steer calf ram owe wether or lamb goat or pig.

“ Travelling Statement ” means any statement reepured by the

“ llcgistration oC Brands Act of 1880 ” and the “ Jlisoases in

Sliccp Act Amendment Act of 1878 ” or any Act amending

the same.

“ P(!rmit ” means any permit required by the “ Sheep Diseases Act of 1880 ” the “ Diseases in Sheep Act Amendment Act of 1878” or any Act amending the same.

“ Travelling Stock ” means any stock the driver of which is

recpiired to he provided witlv a permit or travelling statement.

3. The Governor may from time to time make and again revoke Towor to prodiiim

reserves for the purpose of establishing public watering-plaet's and for tlic accommodation and agistment of travelling stock Such reserves shall he made by notification in the Government Gazette but shall not bo witlidrawn from pastoral lease except by a special notification to that efi'eet.

or other works for storing or for providing water adjacent to any roads

or upon any reserves or public watering-places.

(3. The Governor may from time to time let by auction by Oorernor may lease

ttmder or otherwise for a term not exceeding five years any sucli tanks

])I;ices upon such terms and conditions as may bc deemed expedient and the lessees 1 hereof shall supply water to such persons and siudi stock at such I'ate as shall from time to time bc fixed by regulations for that purpose.

14.
