An Act to amend the Public Service Salaries Act, 1931-1933, in certain respects; and for purposes connected therewith. [Assented to, 5th December, 1933.J

T ^ E it enacted by tlie King's Most Excellent Majesty, l~ j by and with the advice and consent of the Legis­ lative Council and Legislative Assembly of New South Wales in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows

1. (1) This Act may be cited as the “ Public Service short title.

Salaries (Aiiicndineiit) Act, 1933.”

(3) The Public Service Salarit's Act, 1931-1933, as amended by tlii.s Act, may bo cited as the Public Service Salaries Acts, 1931-1933.

2. (1) The Public Service Salai'ies Act, 1931-1933, is Ameuament

amended by omitting subsection two of section four and

by inserting in lieu thereof tlie following subsection:—

(2) (a) In the application of the provisions of this section to the ease of a married male officer, or an officer \vlio is a widower or a divorced person with dependent child or children, or an officer who is a widow, a deserted wife, or a divorced ijcrson with dependent child or children, the provisions of paragraplis (b), (c), and (d) of this subsection shall have effect.

(b) Where the salary of the officer does not

exceed the rate of three hundred and twenty-live

(c) AVhere the salary of the officer is in excess of the rate of two hundred pounds per annum, such salary shall not be reduced below two hundred pounds per annum; and where it is in excess of the rate of two hundred and sixty-cight pounds per annum it shall not be reduced below two hundred and forty-six pounds ten shillings per annum; and where it is in excess of the rate of two hundred and eighty pounds per annum it shall not be reduced below two hundred and fifty-one pounds per annum; and where it is in excess of the rate of three himdred pounds per a.-nnnnn it shall not be reduced below two hundred and sixty-two pounds ten shillings per annum; and where it is in excess of the rate of three hundred and twenty-five pounds per annum it shall not be reduced below two hundred and seventy- eight pounds ten shillings per annum.

(2) Tlie rc'bales referred to in paragraph (b) of subscetion two of section four of the Public Service Salaries Act, 1 as JinieiidcKl by this Act, and any adjustments ri'iidered necessary by tbc provisions of paragraph (c) of the said snhscction two, shall be made in the case of each officer as from the commence­ ment of the first pay period applicable! to the ofTieer in the month of November in the year one Ihonsand nine hundred and thirty-three.
