REGULATIONS UNDER THE PUBLIC SERVICE ACT 1922-1973.*

THE PUBLIC SERVICE BOARD, acting in pursuance and exercise of the authority conferred upon it by the Public Service Act 1922-1973, hereby makes subject to the approval of the Governor-General, the following Regulations.

I. THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, hereby approves the following Regulations.

Amendments of the Public Service Regulations 

Allowances to in be addition to cost of conveyance.

1. Regulation 78 of the Public Service Regulations is amended by inserting after the word “officers” the words “or employees”.

Allowances to veterinary officers and meal inspectors.

2. Regulation 79b of the Public Service Regulations is amended by adding at the end thereof the following sub-regulation:—

“(3) This regulation extends to an employee performing the duties of the office of Veterinary Officer or Meat Inspector.”.

Definition of married officer or employee.

3. Regulation 80aof the Public Service Regulations is amended by inserting after the word “officer” (wherever occurring) the words “or employee”.

Increased or decreased travelling allowance.

4. Regulation 81 of the Public Service Regulations is amended by inserting after the word “officer” the words “or employee”.

Travelling and relieving allowances not payable where transfer to be permanent.

5. Regulation 81aof the Public Service Regulations is amended by inserting after the words “an officer” the words “or employee”.

Travelling allowance in New Guinea.

6. Regulation 82 of the Public Service Regulations is amended by inserting after the word “Officers” the words “or employees”.

Allowance to married minors.

7. Regulation 87b of the Public Service Regulations is amended by adding at the end thereof the following sub-regulation:—

“(3) In this regulation ‘officer’ includes an employee.”.

Forage allowance.

8. Regulation 88 of the Public Service Regulations is amended—

(a) by inserting in sub-regulation (1) after the word “officers” the words “or employees”;

(b) by inserting in sub-regulation (2.) after the words “any officer” the words “or employee”; and

(c) by inserting in sub-regulation (4) after the word “officer”’ the words “or employee”.

Allowances to persons sleeping on office premises.

9. Regulation 95 of the Public Service Regulations is amended by inserting in sub-regulation (1.) after the word “officer” (second, third and fourth occurring) the words “or employee”.

Officers or employees appointed to stations away from home.

10. Regulation 96 of the Public Service Regulations is amended by inserting after the word “officer” the words “or employee”.

Allowance where officers unable to obtain quarters.

11. Regulation 97 of the Public Service Regulations is amended by adding at the end thereof the following sub-regulation:—

“(5) In this regulation, ‘officer’ includes an employee”.

Payment of removal expenses on death or retirement of officer.

12. Regulation 119b of the Public Service Regulations is amended by adding at the end thereof the following sub-regulation:—

“(4) In this regulation, ‘ officer ’includes an employee.”.
