REGULATIONS UNDER THE PUBLIC SERVICE ACT 1922-1973.*

THE PUBLIC SERVICE BOARD, acting in pursuance and exercise of the authority conferred upon it by the Public Service Act 1922-1973, hereby makes, subject to the approval of the Governor-General, the following Regulations.

Amendment of the Public Service Regulations 

Commencement.

1. These Regulations shall come into operation on 1 July 1974·.

Conditions of transfer or Promotionfrom Fourth Division to Third Division.

2. (1) Regulation 112 of the Public Service Regulations is amended by omitting from the table in sub-regulation (i) the words—

“ School Leaving Examination..........................................................................

 Pass

Leaving Technical Examination........................................................................

 Pass

Girls’ Secondary Schools Leaving Certificate.................................................

 Pass

Victorian Technical College First Year Examination held before the year 1965 

 Pass acceptable to the Victorian Universities and Schools Examination Board as qualifying him to sit for the Victorian Higher School Certificate Examination ”.

(2) Notwithstanding the amendment made by sub-regulation (1) an officer who has been an officer continuously since 30 June 1974 and who held, on that day, the appropriate qualifications for transfer or promotion to the Third Division within the meaning of regulation 112 of the Public Service Regulations as in force on that day and, by reason of the amendments made by sub-regulation (1) would, but for this sub-regulation, cease to hold those qualifications, continues to hold the appropriate qualifications for transfer or promotion to the Third Division within the meaning of that regulation as in force from time to time.
