REGULATIONS UNDER THE PUBLIC SERVICE ACT 1922-1973.*

THE PUBLIC SERVICE BOARD, acting in pursuance and exercise of the authority conferred upon it by the Public Service Act1922-1973, hereby makes, subject to the approval of the Governor-General, the following Regulations.

Amendments of the Public Service Regulations 

Allowances to veterinary officer and meat inspectors.

1. Regulation 79b of the Public Service Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting from sub-regulation (1) the words “ twenty miles ” and substituting the figures and word “ 32 kilometres ”; and

(b) by omitting from sub-regulation (2) the words “ twenty miles ” (wherever occurring) and substituting the figures and word “ 32 kilometres ”.

Reimbursement of fares upon change of location of branch, &c.

2. Regulation 79c of the Public Service Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting from paragraph (a) of sub-regulation (3) the words “ one mile ” (wherever occurring) and substituting the figure and word “ 1 kilometre ”; and

(b) by omitting from sub-paragraph (ii) of paragraph, (c) of sub-regulation (3) the words “ one ton ” and substituting the figure and word “ 1 tonne ”.

Aggregation of distance travelled for purposes of regulations 79c and 90.

3. Regulation 79d of the Public Service Regulations is amended by omitting the word “ mileage ” (wherever occurring) and substituting the words “ distance travelled ”.

Allowance payable for use, for official purposes, of private vehicle.

4. Regulation 90 of the Public Service Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting from sub-regulation (4) the words “ each mile ” (first occurring) and substituting the words “ each kilometer ”; and

(b) by omitting the table in sub-regulation (4) and substituting the following table:—

Type of vehicle

Rate of payment per kilometre in cents for each kilometre in the first 9,700 kilometres travelled in the prescribed period

Rate of payment per kilometer in cents for every other kilometre travelled in the prescribed period

Motor track having a carrying capacity of tonne or over.........

6. Regulation 90b of the Public Service Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting front paragraph (b) the words “ two hundredweights ” and substituting the figures and word “ 100 kilogrammes ”; and

(b) by omitting the figure and words “ 1 cent per mile for each mile ” and substituting the figures and words “ 0.63 cents per kilometre for each kilometre ”.

Cleaning Allowance.

7. Regulation 93λ of the Public Service Regulations is amended —

(a) by omitting from paragraph (a) of sub-regulation (1) the words “ twenty-five feet ” and substituting the figures and word “ 7.5 metres ”; and

(b) by omitting from paragraph (b) of sub-regulation (1) the words “ ten feet ” and substituting the figure and word “ 3 metres ”.

Reimbursement of fares— illness or accident— remote districts.

8. Regulation 98a of the Public Service Regulations is amended by omitting from sub-regulation (4) the words “ mileage rate ” and substituting the words “ rate of motor vehicle allowance under regulation 90a ”.

Rates and conditions of Woomera allowance.

9. Regulation 103a of the Public Service Regulations is amended by omitting from sub-regulation (1) the figures and word “ 50 miles ” and substituting the figures and word “ 80 kilometres ”.
