Public Service Regulations2 (Amendment)

THE PUBLIC SERVICE BOARD, acting in pursuance and exercise of the authority conferred upon it by the Public Service Act 1922, hereby makes, subject to the approval of the Governor-General, the following Regulations.

Commencement

1. These Regulations shall come into operation on 1 May 1981.

Meal allowance

2. Regulation 68 of the Public Service Regulations is repealed.

Basis of calculation of allowances

3. Regulation 75 of the Public Service Regulations is amended by omitting from sub-regulation (2) “, other than an allowance payable under regulation 75a,”.

Rates of travelling allowance

4. Regulation 75a of the Public Service Regulations is repealed.

Allowances payable where meals or lodging provided

5. Regulation 77 of the Public Service Regulations is repealed.

Allowance in event of illness away from head-quarters

6.Regulation 79a of the Public Service Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting from sub-regulation (1) “under the regulations governing” and substituting “in respect of”; and

(b) by omitting sub-regulation (3).

Excess fares allowance while temporarily performing duty away from head-quarters

7. Regulation 80 of the Public Service Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting from sub-regulation (2) “an allowance under regulation 75a, 76 or 79b of these Regulations, of a payment under regulation 77 of these Regulations,” and substituting “travelling allowance”; and

(b) by omitting from sub-regulation (3) “an allowance under regulation 75a or 76 of these Regulations, or of a payment under regulation 77 of these Regulations,” and substituting “travelling allowance”.

Increased or decreased travelling allowance

8. Regulation 81 of the Public Service Regulations is repealed.

Relieving allowance not payable where transfer to be permanent

9. Regulation 81a of the Public Service Regulations is amended by omitting “travelling or”.

Camping and lodging allowance

10. Regulation 89 of the Public Service Regulations is amended by omitting paragraph (b) of sub-regulation (5) and substituting the following paragraph:

“(b) nothing in this regulation affects any entitlement of the officer to payment of travelling allowance.”.

 

District allowances

11. Division IV of Part III of the Public Service Regulations is repealed.

Woomera allowance

12. Regulation 103a of the Public Service Regulations is amended by omitting sub-regulations (8) and (10).

Payment of travelling or motor vehicle allowance

13. Regulation 175 of the Public Service Regulations is amended by inserting “, and any determinations relating to travelling allowance made under section 82d of the Act,” after “90a”.

Payment of allowances to persons promoted or transferred

14. Regulation 176 of the Public Service Regulations is amended by inserting “, and any determinations relating to travelling allowance made under section 82d of the Act,” after “120”.
