Public Service Regulations2 (Amendment)

THE PUBLIC SERVICE BOARD, acting in pursuance and exercise of the authority conferred upon it by the Public Service Act 1922,hereby makes, subject to the approval of the Governor-General, the following Regulations.

Commencement

1. These Regulations shall come into operation on 1 July 1983.

Seniority

2. Regulation 110 of the Public Service Regulations is amended—

(a) by inserting in sub-regulation (4) ‘“or (6D)” after “sub-regulation (6)”; and”

(b) by inserting after sub-regulation (6C) the following sub-regulation:

“(6D) For the purposes of transfer or promotion to an office of

(a) Meat Inspector, Grade 1;

(b) Meat Inspector, Grade 2;

(c) Meat Inspector, Grade 3;

(d) Meat Inspector, Grade 4;

(e) Meat Inspector, Grade 5; or

(f) Meat Inspector, Grade 6,

the seniority of a person who became an officer before 1 July 1983 and who holds one of those offices shall be determined by reference to 1 July 1983 as if that date were the date to which, but for this sub-regulation, reference would be made in determining the seniority or relative seniority of the officer.”.

Directions to perform temporarily the duties of another office

3. Regulation 116 of the Public Service Regulations is amended—

(a) by inserting in sub-regulation (2a) “or (6d)” after “sub-regulation 110 (6)”; and

(b) by inserting in paragraph (6) (aa) “or (6d)” after “sub-regulation 110 (6)”.
